The TRAILBLAZER-ALZ 5 Study is evaluating how safe an investigational drug is and how effective it is at slowing or preventing memory and thinking issues for people with memory loss that has gotten worse over time.
Participants are randomly assigned to 1 of 2 groups. They receive either the investigational drug or a placebo (a substance that looks like the investigational drug but contains no medicine).
If you qualify, participation can last as long as approximately 93 weeks (a little under 2 years), but will vary for each participant.
See how you’re staring at this image? When we stare, shout, walk, or remember, it’s the result of signals passing through the 100 billion nerve cells in our brain called neurons.
Electrical charges help these neurons talk to each other. These charges can generate enough electricity to power a low-wattage bulb!1 The combination of these electrical and chemical signals is responsible for the actions mentioned above.
